Once upon a time at Rendville..


On tt very noon, sun shining brightly, didnt even give chance to the Kopi Peng, melting very fast, soon the Kopi Peng become Kopi Sio.. aih. @ A-Ong like usual, those few colleagues are having their lunch together, presented there, Alys, Iv, Joey, EngK and Jam. All were sitting inside the yellow box, government designed those box at each hawkers center, basically those yellow boxes are designated for people who think that their age is too long. Inside the box, people ate food mix with smoke to shorten lifespan. Each person was sucking their own stick @ the yellow box, those smoke made the weather even worse. Short say, that afternoon sucks. Jam reading the NewPaper suddenly looks exciting, he smiled but the smiled look dry with all those hairy mouthache and halfcut beard. Jam's latest jokes was “Do you all choose to have $30K richer but die 5 years earlier or do you all choose to live 5 years longer but $30K poorer. Nobody cared. Everybody looked tired, all were so quiet as if the world is going to be end.

"I wish to take a long break", suddenly the silence breaks. Joey continued "Dun u all feel boring, say something ler, lets go to Bangkok together." Jam answered back, "Siao, going Bangkok with girls around, better keep my money underneath my pillow, worth more." While enjoying his Kopi Peng, EngK checking if anybody interesting @ Genting. Again, Jam said Genting got nothing much, beside gambling and gambling, stil gambling. He pointed at the newspaper advertisement, SUPERSTAR LIBRA, "Y not we go cruising, relaxing, and enjoy the sea.. yoo". Sound like a perfect weekend hang out. EngK agreed, Joey quickly agreed too. "I cant make it, this two weekend I got class", Alys said. Shaking her head Iv said "Aiyaa, skip one day no problem lar, study so hard for what, u see Rend, got computer degree, also end up with us Hallllooo, hallloo." Nobody disagreed, so the trip was on. Iv and Joey had already plans in their mind, to unite back Alys and FeiHung, they were not in a good relationship recently.

Back to office, Iv circulated the email, she typed super fast, sometimes too fast until people dunnoe what is exactly she was trying to describe. All were invited to join, the crowder the merrier. Meeting was called and date was set. Venue: Superstar Libra. The idea was welcomed, most of the staffs agreed. Alys and Sindee bought food and some snacks. Joey and EngK was given task to buy ticket @ Chinatown. Having been through so many things together, inevitable, feeling sparked between them, unfortunately they hold hand @ wrong time, the action of love spotted by Markus who was also at Chinatown at that moment. EngK quickly let his hands off her, but his blushing face could not lie. He tried to start short conversation to cool down the situation, but at the end he only talked cock. Anyway, that managed to keep Markus away. Iv called and asked FeiHung to join the trip. Over the phone, "FeiHung, time to patch back, go for the sack of us, her and you." FeiHung said in reply, "U all just go and enjoy lar, I dun wanna ruin your holiday." Before hung up the phone Iv said, "ticket has been buy, we leave it to you, go or not going, think twice."

Its the d-day, all gathered at HarborFrant. After passing the immigration, all were at the entrance of the Superstar Libra. Alys still could not believe FeiHung did not present. Iv calmed her down. "Hopeless creature, forget him for now, we enjoyed our trip, there will be a lot of pretty boy outside there for us." The cruise was wonderful, it was designed so uniquely to meet the changing need of today passengers. The facilities includes : 24-hour refreshments and snack outlet, pub, bar, restaurant, swimming pool, sports deck, karaoke lounge, discotheque, onboard shopping, pool table, saloon jacuzzi and a lot more. Also available was some corner staircase near emergency exit. The staircase lighting was so dim, it was perfect for some couple, but of course that one is not listed in the cruise brochure. And the room was not bad at all, each room was uniquely design so that not even one room got the same theme. Welcome to the resort-style cruise. With the length of 800 feet and the width of 100 feet, Libra can store up to 2,000 human beings inside.

Everybody found their designated room and could not wait to have fun, all rushed to find their own cabin. Jam got the hard rock cabin, where the inside is designed as if person living inside feel like in a lounge, the lighting is colorful, amazing. Joey got the Oceanview suite, where outside view is astonishing. Vince and JianHao had booked a poolside view cabin, they were without their spouse, so these few days were their independence days. Rend and Markus were at Junior suite cabin where there was jacuzzi on board, that was not fun at all, they choose the wrong room, it was meant for couples. Markus could not imagine bathing with Rend at the jacuzzi. EngK got cartoon theme which he did not like at all, but who cares, he knew he was not going to spend the bed alone. He smiled and blushed himself thinking of tonight plan. Iv and Sindee were sharing the same room, it was an executive room, they even had their own balcony. Alys moodily walk to her room, the door was unlocked, she stepped inside. There FeiHung was laying at the bed. Could not hide her happiness, she hug him. Looked they get on well for now. Anyway, they got a room with kitchen available, it meant nothing much, the most that kitchen could produce is telur mata lembu.

The bell of the cruise signed that it was departing... Traveling in 10 knots/hour, cruise slowly reached the middle of the ocean. Alys and FeiHung went to the lads at the bar. Iv also quite surprise with the presence of FeiHung. FeiHung said "I came early to check on the room, dun need to get worry, who will reject a free ticket, anyway?" They spent the noon playing cards. Joey and EngK were at centre of the cruise, the viewpoint, awaiting sunset. What a romantic scene. Imitating Titanic at the corner of the viewpoint, EngK was holding Joey hands.. Joey whispered "EngK, I'm flying".. EngK replied "U drunk ar? Wait till tonight, I'll make you fly" Jam saw Vince, asked him to join, he asked Vince "Can ya smell the ocean, try smell it" Vince took his deep breath and he coughed "Damn, the ocean smell like shit, why ar?" Couldn't hold anymore longer, Jam laughed out hard "I just fart, sorry ar, u can try to smell again now.” Vince walked away joining JianHao, Markus & Rend.


Still at the viewpoint near the poolside, those three guys seem enjoying sunset. But behind their sunglasses, they were looking at something else, girls!! Wow, there were a lot of sexy girls at the pool, what else more they can wish for. Markus said to Vince "That sun look bright ar, smooth and fair", Vince continued while licking his own mouth, "Yeah, look at that sun, si bee sexy eee, only 2 pieces, bro." JianHao asked "where, where, how come my sun all very big size one, pai kua le." They were really enjoying the freedom a lot. At the other side of the cruise, Suha and Pete looked busy with the cruise directory, cant find any massage center, they felt like nothing to do, at the end, spending their own time drinking at the room.

Going to the bosses, Barcelona steady, ZJo, looking busy with the fishing equipment before the security stop him.. sorry, no fishing on board. Barcelona had bring a turtle together with her to be freed, freeing turtle means good luck. But still worried whether the turtle could survive the ocean, she asked a lot of nonsense. ZJo whose mood already down with no fishing, replied her short and sweet, "Do I look like a turtle to you?" That managed to stop Barcelona from asking. At the end, she threw the turtle to the ocean. Good luck, turtle..

19.30 pm, dinner time, all were hungry after the exciting day.. It was an international buffet with lots of ethnics choices, no complaint, the food was nice. Markus was competing with JianHao to see who ate the most chicken wing, the competition stopped when Sindee actually found that lot of the chicken wings was still hairy. After the awesome dinner, most of guys were hanging around the poolside bar. The starry night perfect up the situation.
FeiHung start talking about Alys telur mata lembu. "Everyday also mata lembu, 1 day eat neng liap, sian ar." Alys looked not happy with FeiHung comments, they began quarreled. Iv and Joey tried to calm them down. But the situation had changed from bad to worse. Suddenly "Look, whales, a lot of whales," Vince pointed at the ocean. "U blur, those are dolphins, not whales," JianHao laughing at Vince. Not long he shouted again "Hey, whale, look", now Vince pointed beyond the cruise. The whale, the baby whale exactly, it was very near to the cruise, moving awkwardly, the baby whale collided with the cruise. It looked at the cruise angrily. JianHao said to Vince "The whale is blur like u, cant even swim well."

Well, Sindee, the curly girl were enjoying her own sweet time @ the Libretoise Cafe, the live band played slow jazz with very touching rhythm. She looked moody. She started move up to the dance floor, she danced alone, so lonely a dance... People said it was a Pre Menstrual Syndrome, or in nowadays language people said “got blood”, “come red”, or “lai ang” . Rend approached to give her a companion. All of the sudden the cruise trembled. Earthquake?? Impossible, it's in the middle of ocean. Only Rend alone felt the trembling? Absolutely not, he could see Sindee losing her balance and felt down. People were trying to reach nearest thing to grab on. Bangg!! again now it hit the cruise so hard, things on the table were falling down.. One of the band member accidentally hit the other with the drum stick.

Jam and EngK still at the poolside when it happened, was it Tsunami? Nope, from far, ocean looked calm. Vince shouted "whale!!" JianHao replied "Come on, something happening to the cruise, no time to joke." again Vince said "Whale, look, its a groups of whales beside the cruise." For God sake, never in the whole life they saw such groups of whale. They were banging their body to the Cruise, and he spotted a familiar whale at the groups, the whale that the cruise hit earlier. That baby whale was inviting all of its kind to attack the cruise. All those whales keep pushing and hit the cruise nonstop causing the cruise losing its balance.

The first and second officer spotted large icebergs directly ahead of the cruise. The cruise captain, Capt. Elephant was too slow in response, looked at the cruise screen for quite sometimes, he ordered to reverse with full speed, too late, those whales were in every side of the cruise, forcing the cruise moving directly to the icebergs, the collisions was inevitable, the left side of the cruise hit the icebergs to pieces creating leak here and there. The couples were still quarreling when the cruise hit the iceberg, all of the sudden a big piece iceberg felt onto FeiHung head, knocking him laying unconscious. FeiHung felt everything changed, he became so light and felt burdenless, he felt like flying. But what has happened, why is Alys hugging another guy, angrily, he walked towards Alys, everyone looked sad. FeiHung saw himself @ Alys embraced and she was crying. "Hey, what the hell is going on"? FeiHung shouted and shouted, but nobody seem to care, he realized he had died... tears roll down, there's still so much to say to Alys, he didnt mean the quarrel, he loved her so much and still did not had chance to show it. White light appear, FeiHung knew he got to crossover to the other side of the world. There is no point regretting what has happened, in a blink of eye, everything changed, FeiHung learned know what is love, but it was too late. Another piece of iceberg fell. Jam pulled Alys away. Vince tried to avoid the iceberg, running zigzag he fell himself and injured his leg, it seem bad, his right ankles now can turn 360 degrees, cool! He shouted for help with the shocked and pain at his leg. Jam ran back and help him.

The watertight compartments started to leak as well, the weight of the water filling the compartments weighed down the cruise. Situation was totally messed up. Suha and Pete who were sleeping also surprised by the loud bang and ran outside to check what is happening. People still could not believe what had happened. The first thought that the Superstar Libra unsinkable was totally a mistake, it apparently could sink. Lifeboats were ordered to be readied and signal for help was sent out. From the top of the cruise, it fired SOS.

Soon, the lifeboats were lowered down, Superstar Libra held 40 lifeboats which each had a capacity of 50 passengers. At first, passengers were reluctant to leave Libra, they were still stunned unbelievably with the accident occurred. As a result, most lifeboats were launched partially empty, the first boat was only on board with 23 passengers. But ZJo and Barcelona were among the first to be on board, those first and second class had easy access to the lifeboats, but for the third class passengers it was quite hard to find a way through. Unfortunately enough, most of the SCB staffs were among those @ economy class. Most of the people on the third class were lost than saved.

In the dance floor, Sindee and Rend were still struggling to escape. Rend saw cables swing through his head, he managed to avoid, but a pillar at the same time fall down exactly where he stood. Sindee could not bear to see, Rend's adventure ended there. Sindee holding back her tear ran out looking for others.. What she saw again, was another terrible scene, JianHao with free stroke sytle fall dunnoe from where landed helpless in front of her. It created a loud bang, soon JianHao met Rend at other part of the world..

Jam, Vince, Markus and Alys, EngK were outside, with a lot of others people, they had to squeeze themselves up to the top of the cruise as it was sinking, slowly but steady. Joey & Iv were missing, EngK were shouting for Joey, but no one saw her, EngK ran back to the poolside to look for her...

At the control room, wireless operator were still busy sending the signal, several ships responded but was too late to make it to Libra in time. The waterline is getting higher and higher, people getting nervous, some decided to jump to the dark ocean than waiting to vanish. Some jumped and hit the icebergs. Some even pushed other away in order to get to the lifeboat, lifeboats began to be full and overloaded, one lifeboat was not balance enough and overturned. Women were screaming, kids were crying. Some elder people gathered and prayed. Some of the ships crew was trying to calm people down but to no avail. Captain Elephant surrendered to his faith; he decided to stay till the cruise sunk. EngK is still looking for Joey, at last he managed only to find her body @ the poolside, lying motionless. There were shoes spots everywhere on her face, she was stomped to dead. Kneeled down next to her, he shouted her name, at the night without moonlight, the dark universe knew how sad he was. Giving his final kiss, EngK fled the scene promising to stay alive for her. As he ran, the light started to went out, and the electric system finally failed. While the lights went out, the water energy stressed Libra to break into two large pieces, it started to sink vertically. People started to fell down, EngK on his way to the last two lifeboats saw Iv struggled to stand still. EngK grabbed her and ran to find another way out. Jam and friends were already in the lifeboat. But the lifeboat itself was too overloaded, Jam had no choice but to sacrifice Vince. Vince was thrown out with no mercy. He tried to swim, but the cold water numb and freeze him, all of the survivors witnessed how he sank, everyone felt bad but all kept quiet. No more lifeboat left. EngK took an unused life jacket, put it on to Iv and they decided to jump, the ocean was deadly cold, they never experienced such a cold in their whole life, it was like jumping into the dead freeze. EngK heart seemed stopped beating, his whole body felt crushed but realizing he had another life to save, he forced himself to surface with Iv body, spat out the salty water, gasping for breath, he began to swim toward the last lifeboat, unfortunately the lifeboat started to sail, he tried to shout, but had not gotten the energy to do so. There were bodies floating everywhere, he grabbed the wreckage of the cruise and moved Iv up, he managed to grab one for himself. He found a whistle over a dead body and started to blow desperately. It brought the attention of the lifeboat, it row back to safe them. Unintentionally, the whistle fall down and sank. The lifeboat lost the trace. At that point of time, he had to put aside his ego, he got to think of Iv as well. He reached his wallet, took out 3 square wrapped plastics, torn it, the condom which glow brightly in the dark managed to attract the lifeboat back.

At the life boat everyone keep silence. What was heard was desperate whispers and cry. They waited for another hour till the arrival of other ship…..

At 7pm, after having steamboat, SuNeo and CNN arrived first. Ups, wait, Suneo & CNN are not the first to arrive. AP's regular, Jere is already there, playing pool. Jere now is a motorbike designer, he earns big bucks now. Marvellous !! Suneo and Jere stil in contacts all the while, sometimes out for some light sport together, both of them sharing same hobbies since young.. from KTV to soccer, the story never end.

AP has not change a bit, two seats outside, the pool table, the bar and even the dart game are still placed exactly where it is. Only that now no more Karaoke, it cause a lot of fighting, from gel gel boy boy fight till hubby and wife fight also happened before, he wanna sing, she wanna sing, at the end, slap here and there, wat a pity.. The first thing Suneo do is registering his name @ the whiteboard for pool game, o, things really doesnt change a lot. CNN order a jug of beer, while waiting for his turn, they chat of old times. It has been 11 years, from the ring they wear, it can be guessed they are happily married.


Someone poke at Suneo back. Hey, TanFeiHung has arrived, of course, his lovely wife Anna is still with him. TanFeiHung still look as handsome as before even with those grey hair covering his head, while Anna looks plum and more mature, she is a mother of two now, still cooking but no more foul language. She has now lead a good sex life, no more eeriesult from TanFeiHung ;) Hmmh, talking about baby, Suneo and CNN is a parent as well now; CNN just gives birth to twin 6 mths ago; a boy and a girl. The boy is Neo Cock Keng and the girl is Neo Cock Peng.

Ivie and Sindick arrive at same time, both still single and sometimes they hang out together. Ivie, with long black gown is still so gorgeous, while Sindick, is a very mature gal. Pete is no longer pervert, he has a steady girl friend now, whom he said will come in later. KTV Bob due to high blood, order fruit punch, so does CNN. Ivie teasing CNN for not having liquor now. The secret revealed when CNN tell everything, yes, she is at her second pregnancy, wow, looks like Suneo really "bia" very hard. Yes. it's cheers for the coming baby. "Da" !!! Everybody lift their glasses and finish at one go.

Vilm and Mieke also arrive together, although they are rival in mahjong game, outside, they are friend. Marcus and Eugene also arrived shortly after. Then a very familiar looking gal walk in to AP. Trying to get used to her eyes in the smoky place, she finds him, Pervert Pete. She is his girlfriend. This gal really looks familiar, but just that nobody can guess who she is. Then Pete make announcement. She is the ex-Sumer, the idol once Sindick liked so much. She is no longer Sumer, she has changed sex since the "Crazy Horse" tragedy and Pete really cant resist her as a girl. Sumer once, she is now Mermaid. Ei, that is so sweet of them.

Everybody has arrive, except Rend, he is a Indonesia and are unable to present at this memorable re-union. Good and bad, happy and sad, all which has been through before remains memory in each of their heart. None can paints out those words..

We remember the days where we were sissy. It was a long time ago but it's a sweet memory. Time was passing quicker than our eyes could see. Older than yesterday, now we are more then thirty. Could we fly as high as the sky ? Could we reach freedom when we release our tie?...
